FRÄNKISCHE takes a step towards digital future and offers free technical product data of its pipe systems for ventilation, drinking water and heating for Building Information Modelling (BIM). The pipe specialist thus promotes the BIM method for enhanced planning, implementation and management of buildings.

Digital construction of buildings, perfect coordination during construction phase, and an overview of the installed products during maintenance whenever necessary: FRÄNKISCHE supports the effective processing of construction projects with comprehensive technical data for its range of pipe systems for ventilation, drinking water and heating. The enterprise provides these data to the architects, engineers and constructors free of charge as from June 2019.

BIM: Virtual planning, real construction

FRÄNKISCHE supplies datasets for BIM processes via the MagiCAD Cloud platform https://fraenkische.magicad.cloud/. In the Autodesk Revit planning software, the users access comprehensive technical data and 3D models in the MagiCAD Cloud, and create a digital draft of the piping network. The result is precise calculations – with optimised data volume. Alternatively, project planning and dimensioning can be done directly with the TGA software MagiCAD for Revit. As soon as the pipelines have been drawn at the desired locations, MagiCAD performs dimensioning of these according to the valid standards. By means of the FRÄNKISCHE dataset, the calculated model is automatically supplied with the required fittings and shaped parts of the building technology expert

From planning to demolition

The BIM model is of great benefit for those involved over the entire life cycle of a building. During the planning stage, BIM facilitates information exchange among the participants, and ensures transparency and networking for increasingly more complex construction projects. Thanks to the automation of elaborate planning and routine tasks by means of BIM, the project participants can save time and consequently money. During construction, the technology optimises the workflow, makes the decision-making processes quicker, and ensures high quality. During operation, facility managers benefit from the virtual representation of the building: In the course of maintenance, you can identify at once the materials used and which replacement parts are required. And finally, BIM models are also useful for demolition of buildings: On the basis of material lists, the operators obtain comprehensive information on the recycling materials of the products installed.

With the provision of free technical product data on its pipe systems for ventilation, drinking water and heating, FRÄNKISCHE makes planning and execution of construction projects much easier. On the product level, the building technology expert offers product datasets according to VDI 3805 for download at www.fraenkische.com. "Due to this, we implement data exchange on the product level in the first step, which is already part of the daily routine for the most planners," says Rudi Geier, Piping Systems Product Manager at FRÄNKISCHE.
