Complete installation by FRÄNKISCHE

Complete installation by FRÄNKISCHE

Heat recovery ventilation, heating and drinking water system, as well as underfloor heating: the plumbing specialist Timo Hofstetter implemented the installations in his new bath exhibition in Ansbach exclusively with FRÄNKISCHE systems. In the showroom itself, FRÄNKISCHE is also presented with its products, for instance, with its design-oriented ventilation grills.

High-quality bath ceramics, shining fittings, state-of-the-art ventilation systems: those willing to renovate or redesign their bathrooms in the administrative capital of Central Franconia can look for inspiration in the newly opened Hofstetter's World of Design and Well-Being (Design- und Wohlfühlwelt) showroom. For 100 years now, Hofstetter GmbH has been a reliable contact partner for the citizens of Ansbach in all matters of bath planning and renovation, heating, sanitary equipment, as well as customer service and plumbing. With the showroom and the event cellar, Timo Hofstetter - Managing Director - made his long-cherished wish come true: the showroom upstairs accommodates a modern exhibition of the latest bathroom design variants, whereas a spacious vaulted cellar downstairs is a grand venue for workshops, seminars and events. The central location overlooks the historic old town of the former margravial residence town.

It took the installer some one and a half years – until August 2018 – to renovate and reconstruct the building with a lot of personal contribution. As to the pipe systems, Timo Hofstetter opted exclusively for the FRÄNKISCHE products: the profi-air ventilation system, alpex F50 PROFI for heating and drinking water installations, as well as the ff-therm multi Difustop underfloor heating.

profi-air: solutions for each and every installation situation

The installation specialist implemented the heat recovery ventilation with the entire profi-air product range: the round classic pipes in the dimensions of 75 and 90 mm, and the tunnel pipes together with bends, air outlets and manifolds supply the showroom and the vaulted cellar with fresh outside air and remove used air. "What convinces me most about FRÄNKISCHE's profi-air is its quality and a substantial yet clearly structured variety of products. The installation is quick and easy, and we can cover literally each situation on site with the range of products available," Timo Hofstetter is full of praise.

The experienced installer adjusted the ventilation system himself with the help of the constant volume flow regulator (KVR) by FRÄNKISCHE. The regulator located in the manifold outlet always ensures a constant volume air flow during normal operation.  "The adjustment is easily done with a bit of practice. It took us only two hours to make everything work here in the building," summarises Mr Hofstetter.

Ventilation system control via smartphone

The ventilation systems in the showroom and in the cellar are each operated via a separate profi-air touch 400 ventilation unit. The efficient units are particularly convincing due to their superior user-friendliness: "The control via smartphone is an ideal solution, we have already gathered a lot of positive experience with it in different projects. As soon as the unit is in the home network, we can easily check the settings."

The ventilation grills from the starline collection top off the heat recovery ventilation system. A total of eleven metal grills in a number of colours and with different designs are exhibited in the showroom – for ventilation, but also as visual highlights for the visitors of the bath exhibition. "It takes just a few minutes to install the grills, and you need no tools," emphasises the Managing Director. The installer puts the mounting frame and the design grill together by means of magnets, and inserts the combination into the air outlet. Ventilation units can be then aligned and balanced easily and flexibly by hand.

alpex pressing technology: simple, stable and time-saving

In addition to the ventilation system, Timo Hofstetter has also implemented the drinking water and heating installations with FRÄNKISCHE: to this end, he made use of the alpex F50 PROFI multilayer composite pipe system in dimensions between 16 and 32 mm. The flow-optimised fittings made of high-performance PPSU connect the pipes with each other. The installer verifies the correctness of installation through a large inspection window and the leak function. He also praised the installation of alpex pipes and fittings in confined spaces and during overhead activities: the connection via pressing technology is easy, stable and saves a lot of time on the construction site.

FRÄNKISCHE service as an extra benefit

Timo Hofstetter is especially impressed by the service provided by FRÄNKISCHE field service: "In addition to the superior quality of products, excellent support is a crucial factor why we have been opting for FRÄNKISCHE systems even in our own buildings for more than 20 years now." All components of the building technology specialist installed in the showroom and the event cellar are from the wholesale. Everything was in stock there, and the delivery worked quickly and smoothly, too.

The installation specialist from Ansbach rents out the newly designed event cellar for festivities or training sessions on a daily or semi-daily basis. Wolfgang Link – a TV chef and low-carb expert – is a frequent guest here. He uses the completely furnished cellar for his events dedicated to low-carb cuisine.

It is the vaulted cellar that required a great deal of improvisation and manual dexterity: the ff-therm multi Difustop underfloor heating, for instance, rests on a sand bed covered with paving stones. "We had to experiment a little bit at some spots, there was simply no other possibility due to the ancient vault structure – but our success proves us right, everything works as intended." The 16-mm PE-Xa pipes of the underfloor heating, for instance, are installed in the middle, the ventilation pipes are routed at the edge. A special solution was required for the wood-beamed ceiling of the gallery where a particularly low structure was only possible: Mr Hofstetter installed here the flat profi-air tunnel pipe with its installation height of merely 52 mm for the heat recovery ventilation. Due to its high impact strength, the flow-optimised pipe is installed in new buildings mainly in the floor structure under the screed.
