After almost two years of construction, FRÄNKISCHE’s Western Plant (Werk West) in Königsberg was inaugurated. The plant expansion provides urgently needed room for the growth in all company divisions and is an investment in the future of the family enterprise.

Königsberg, July 2019. The Western Plant has been FRÄNKSICHE’s biggest construction project since the construction of the Southern Plant (Werk Süd) in 1993. A three-storey administrative building, a production hall and a logistics centre have been built on 30,000 square metres directly adjoining the existing company premises along the district road towards Hellingen. In the course of the construction work, also the access way to the plant has been redesigned and additional truck parking spaces have been created reducing traffic on the main through-road towards Hellingen.

“FRÄNKISCHE’s growth continues – and not just in the international subsidiaries but also here at our headquarters. Moreover, continuous innovation leads to an ever-increasing product variety; our product range currently includes over 13,000 products. The new construction is an investment in the future of our family enterprise, and, of course, also a clear commitment to the location of Königsberg where we are firmly rooted despite our internationality,” says Otto Kirchner (President of FRÄNKSICHE). “The construction of the Western Plant makes room for growth in all divisions, and we can also optimise processes in production and logistics,” adds Julius Kirchner, who joined the company management in May and is now running the company together with his father.

All of the logistics operations for FRÄNKISCHE’s Industrial Pipes Division have been handled in the new building since the beginning of the year already, the production facilities from the Hofheim plant moved in May, the office building and the shipping rooms at the new truck gate are nearly finished.

Guests of honour from politics and business attended the opening ceremony, among them State Secretary Gerhard Eck (Member of the Landtag), Steffen Vogel (Member of the Landtag), District Administrator Wilhelm Schneider, Mayor Bittenbrünn and CCI President Dr. Mapara. There were also plant tours in addition to speeches and a round table talk on the podium. The next day, the staff, their families and retired employees had the opportunity to explore the new building: the annual company party with a varied program of sports, games and leisure activities took place at the Western Plant premises this year.
