Generation change at FRÄNKISCHE

For 115 years, FRÄNKISCHE has been an owner-managed and family-run enterprise; Otto Kirchner has been its President for 30 years. On 1 August 2021, he will pass the executive management to his son Julius Kirchner and change to Otto Kirchner Beteiligungen SE (OKiB SE), a holding company with all shares in the FRÄNKISCHE group of companies in its possession.

“Every professional career is bound to end one day. At the age of 68, I have come to the conclusion that it is about time for me to hand over the baton to young generation,” as Otto Kirchner puts it. “A well-ordered generation change is essential for a family-owned enterprise. That is why quite early on we started thinking of paving the way for the future. I am so happy that my son will assume this responsible task and I am sure that he will carry on the philosophy of the Kirchner family through the next decades.”

Father and son have been running the company together for two years now. In 2019, Julius Kirchner became the 4th generation to enter the company. “FRÄNKISCHE has been an integral part of my life since my very childhood. I am thrilled to keep on running the company with new ideas and, above all, with so many motivated and dedicated employees,” says Julius Kirchner. The group of companies in Königsberg/Germany will thus remain a family-owned enterprise also in the future.
