Sedimentation

Sedimentation

Space-saving underground sedimentation systems are particularly welcome in areas where space is scarce.

Pollutants that are carried in stormwater runoff are mainly bound to smallest solid particles. These particles/substances can be removed from the water by sedimentation. However, sedimentation in conventional sedimentation systems such as stormwater sedimentation tanks is time-consuming, because particles, in particular polluted ultra-fine particles, sink very slowly to the ground.

The flow separation sedimentation process

SediPipe solves this problem differently – in an innovative and cost-effective way – by the application of our patented flow separator technology. The flow separator forms a zone in the lower pipe section where there is little water movement, making sedimentation quicker while preventing sediment re-entrainment – the sediment is being controlled.
